Continuing education contact hours are not required for 1st renewal period.

Mandatory Subjects:

Older Adult/Geriatric Care – 2 contact hours every 2-year renewal period. 

Texas Nursing Jurisprudence and Ethics – 2 contact hours every third 2-year renewal period.

Additional requirement for Emergency Department RNs:

Forensic Evidence Collection – 2 contact hours; 1-time requirement.

Contact hours not required, but recommended:
Tick-borne diseases, diagnosis and treatment
