Do I need to take a test to get my certificate?

TESTING VS. AFFIRMATION

Some professions and states require you to affirm that you have read and completed all course materials. In this case, you will be asked one question to acknowledge that you have read and understood the course information that has been provided. Completion of the affirmation statement gives you a passing grade and allows you to access your course certificate.

Other states require you to take and pass a course-related test. The number of questions required varies by profession.

Please note that testing and affirmation requirements vary by both state and profession. Be sure to confirm the requirements with your professional state licensing board.

PASSING GRADE

Required pass rates for courses vary but typically a score of 75% or higher is required in order to pass your test.  70% is the requirement for nursing.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KEEP FOR MY LICENSE

Once you have passed your course, a course ID number can be found on the completion certificate for reference when you are ready to renew your license. In most cases, an accreditation provider number will also be listed. Your certificate information will be important for license renewal and will be needed if you are ever audited by your state board. Please be sure to keep your information on file and accessible for future reference.

Important!  Completing your CE does not renew your license. Renewing your license is done through your state board, not your CE provider.
