Libman Education Announces RHIT – RHIA to Coder Program

Bedford, MA – Libman Education has announced a program to allow those with RHIT and RHIA credentials to use their experience to fast-track their coding career. The RHIT – RHIA to Coder Program is a special version of Libman Education’s popular Medical Coder Career Program (MCCP), which provides foundational training to enable one to pursue a coding credential and seek a facility-based inpatient or outpatient coding position.

“Coding is a valid career path for RHITs and RHIAs, whether they are new graduates or mid-career professionals looking for their next challenge” said Angela Lehoux, CCS, instructor for the MCCP. “Facility-based coders are in high demand and additionally many HIM-related jobs require an in depth knowledge of coding. While RHITs and RHIAs have the advantage of general knowledge of HIM, the RHIT – RHIA to Coder Program takes them the rest of the way, providing training in the primary coding systems used in hospitals, hands-on practical coding experience, and preparation for a nationally-recognized coding credential.”

The RHIT – RHIA to Coder Program trains these future coders in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT coding. Online self-paced study is supplemented with support of a certified instructor. Coursework is based on real-world workforce requirements.
